For Cindy's 60th birthday our Sweet #1 child Angie gave us a nights stay at a Lovely Bed and Breakfast, Milo's Inn in Boulder City. On Thursday about noon we left to go to B.C. Had a very nice drive, we were able to explore some neat shops in B.C.

Here are some pictures we took of the new bridge so you don't have to go over the narrow dam. The second picture is some of the heard of mountain goats we saw near Boulder City. There must have been 40 or 50 of them it was an amazing sight!!! Our room was so beautiful. They must have recently remodeled because the room was very nice with pretty furnishings and a big spa tub. Right out the front door was a coy pond with 2 turtles and 2 cat fish and also a water fall . They had 2 beach cruisers you could go for a ride. They also had a fire pit and a place to BBQ. Angie, you did good finding it on the internet. We had 24 hours of bliss. They have so many cute shops and things to look at. It is like going back in time!!! Thanks so much Angie & Tracy!!!

Mother's Day for Cindy...Oh Happy Day!!!

This is the plaque Lindsay and Mike and Auri and Andrew gave me for Mother's Day. It has a cool quote from Isaiah on it and I really like it!!! Lindsay also sent a talk Brother Eyring gave with the quote in it. Tiff gave me a dragon fly decoration to put on a plant pot and some really cute earrings, I will post those soon.

Lenny and Amanda made this cute decoration of our family pictures. Lenny and Amanda made a nice dinner for us and her family that live here. It was a nice day for all!!!

GETTING OLD IS NOT FUN!!!

A few weeks ago I was a volenteer in the kitchen at the Las Vegas Temple. When my shift was over I could barely walk up the stairs. It was so weird and then I found myself with really tight hamstrings and really tight nerves around my tail bone. I suffered with it for a while and after deciding I would need some help with this, I went to the doctor (And oh by the way that night after working at the Temple I came around the corner into the family room and tripped on the rug and fell hard. I was sure my ankle was broken but fortunately I can walk on it so that is the least of my problems!) The next day I still couldn't walk very well or my normal speed. I am in some kind of low-slow gear. Then when I finally went to the Doctor she gave me muscle relaxers and pain med and a medrol pack (steroids) I still didn't fell better and some time during the night the skin at the bottom of my stomach started hurting really bad. So when I got up and looked it was all red and hard and hot. Turns out to be an abcess. It got worse so she had to numb it and lance. It was about the size of my middle finger or a little bigger. I sure feels better since she got all that uck out of me. My tummy feels a ton better and I am walking better but not at all like normal. I am working on it and my Dr. had me also go to a Chiropractor and that helped also. Well I hope I am not too depressing but venting has helped. I am going to post more often. So check in!!! when i got up this morning tiffany told me to get dressed we are going some where i asked her where she told me it was a surprise so i got dressed and we left on the why there she told me that snapshots are probably going to happen if you know tiff she loves taking pictures of everyone at any given time we went to an antic store here i am with a cute apron
then we went to applebees where we started off with mozzeralla sticks & dessert it was yummy

Mike, Lindsay, Auri and Andrew stopped to spend the night on their way home from Disneyland. Lindsay got the kids to bed on our bedroom floor. Mike and Lindsay decided to go to a movie or shopping so off they went after telling me the kids are so tired...they are probably asleep already. Well, when I went to bed their was a plethora of odds and ends on the bathroom floor. Things from the cabinets etc. and I also noticed an opened bottle of Mr. Clean. There was only a tiny amount in the bottle but it was empty. I went straight to Andrew, who was then sound asleep, and smelled his breath, there was no smell of Mr. Clean on his breath or around him so I went to bed. The next day when Larry got home he proceeds to tell me the story of Andrew knocking on Papa's head and playing with Larry's Goofy collection and saying I can't go to sleep. Larry scoops him up onto our bed and said go to sleep here and Andrew said " I don't sleep in your bed I sleep in my own bed." So off he went to the floor where he was supposed to be sleeping. He had also turn Larry's side of our sleep number bed clear down to 25 instead of 45. Anyway it was such a cute funny story I just had to share!!!

lenny & amanda left for their cruise on sunday so nonnie from west virgina came to babysit tiff & i decided we are going to spend the night tonight so we came over had dinner then started playing different stuff we just got done playing school becca was the teacher mrs taylor i was the principal mrs tuty tiff was assistant principal mrs fruity we got out of hand really quick it was fun loud & obnoxious it was great I LOVED IT!!! i love being a grandma its the best!!!

Labor Day Is A Special Day But I don't really know why!!!

Happy Labor Day Everyone. Hopefully now the weather will be cooler on a consistant basis!!! I could go for that and I KNOW Larry could go for that (working outside). I am in the process of making a baby quilt for a friend to give to a friend, it is turning out cute!!! It will be nice to have Larry home on Monday and then on Friday will are going to see Angie (it's her birthday on friday). Larry is going to help them refinish their deck. It will be nice and cool up there...I am sure!!! Well, have a great holiday!!!

Larry & I were running errands earlier today. We were in the middle lane when some guy was right next to us. Larry saw someone fly into the air then hit the car right next to us before hitting the ground. We drove over the leaf blower I had to ask what was going on when Larry said "that guy just got hit by a car." So we pulled over & called 911. The guy who got hit lived, he had a broken hip, broken leg & head injuries. We aren't sure if the driver was charged or not but he probably was because the lane he was in was not a lane. After we were done talking with the cop the mustang wouldn't start so we asked the officer if he could give us a jump start he said no it was against rules well after he was done, the cop saw Larry still working on the car & called his sargeant for permission & jump started the mustang. It was scarey I'm glad we were there to help. That poor man that was hit was really in bad shape!!!

last week madi & becca had their award ceremony for school so tiff & i went to it. madi & becca did so well they are so smart & cute. we got there early so we woundnt miss any of it here i am waiting

My Birthday in Disneyland

Well, last Sunday we got back to Las Vegas from the Happiest Place On Earth!!! Larry took me to Disneyland for my birthday just him and I. It was really fun we left on Thursday May 13 and drove down to Disneyland and went to Downtown Disney that day. On Thursday we went to Disneyland and on Friday we went to California Adventure and Disneyland. We had a wonderful time and it was a real treat. We did get a really cute picture of Larry and I with Goofy. I will try to post it. I have to scan it first. I am not to fancy with the computer as you all know.
My gig at Deseret Industries is over. My time was up and I am done as of Tuesday May 11. It was a good experience but it was time to go!!! So now I am home and I am working on some things to sell on the internet at etsy.com. I still have to do some work on that before I will be up and running. A FUN TIME WAS HAD BY ALL!!!

For Easter week-end and through the following week (Spring Break) we enjoyed having The Lofthouse family with us. We had a great time and if you can go to Tiffany's blog you will see tons of pictures! I will see if she with put them on our blog as well!!! They came on Friday night, April 2 and stayed until Friday April 9. We had a great visit and fun times together. We are so glad they spent spring break with us this year. With it being Easter and General Conference also, we had a lot of fun crammed into 7 days. We did it and loved every minute of it!!!

We all had Easter Dinner together on Sunday with Lenny and Amanda and family too. Lindsay and Mike did not make it down and we missed having them here but they had other plans. The Lofthouse Clan went to Shark Reef, Bowling, Movies, Dinner just the MOM & DAD!!! They did feed us yummy pizza from Pizza Hut though!!! It was a very enjoyable week and please let's do it again!!! Oh and they also camped one night at Valley of Fire and has a blast...climbing big red rocks and all sorts of things you can do in the desert! I hope to get some pictures up also. TA-TA-For Now (as Tigger would say)!!!

The Story of the Rolls...

Well, it is time to confess my mishap with the rolls at Thanksgiving! I wish I had taken a picture! Well, being that I am lazy I bought Rhodes bake and serve rolls. That morning I got the rolls out of the freezer and told everyone "DON'T TURN ON THE OVEN" my rolls are rising the quick method. The quick method is to turn the oven on 200 degrees and then turn the oven off. Then you place a bowl of water in the bottom of the oven and put the rolls onto a cookie sheet and spray them with cooking spray and then spray the plastic wrap with cooking spray and then put them in the oven for an hour or so and they will thaw and rise. You then take them out and preheat the oven and put them back in to cook (of course removing the plastic wrap first).
Well, everything was going well until I started making Amanda's delicious pretzel salad. First you make a crust out of pretzels, butter and brown sugar and bake it for a short time in the oven and then let it cool and finish with strawberries and jello (or something like that). So I turn on the oven to 350 or so and forget that my rolls are rising. When I thought the oven was pre-heated I opened the oven to put in the pretzel crust to find my 3 pans of rolls. The middle pan of rolls were cooked completely and the other two we well raised and I should have just gone ahead and cooked them then but OH NO I take them out of the oven and take the plastic wrap off and the pan that was cooked were fabulous. In fact we ate them all right then. The other two pans were quite another story! As I took the plastic wrap off they fell. So the rolls we had with Thanksgiving Dinner were flat but the ones we ate fresh out of the over were wonderful and the plastic did not stick to them at all.
NOTE TO SELF: When defrosting and rising rolls in oven PUT A BIG GIANT NOTE TO SELF... DO NOT TURN ON OVEN UNTIL THE ROLLS ARE DONE!!! So that is why I am going to have my brain checked so I can know if I am just DUH or if my brain is turning to mush!!!

We Had Our Annual "O Holy Night" Gathering

Well, last Saturday December 12th we had our 5th annual O Holy Night Gathering! It started out rather spontaneous 5 years ago when Nathan and Suzie Balsar came to see us after moving away from Las Vegas. It just happened that another friend, Cheryl Sessums, dropped by to say Hi to them. I said to her ..."Do You have the music to O Holy Night and she did, so she ran home and got it. It just happens to be Larry's favorite song and he collects CD's with that song and has a list of who sings it best all the way down to the worst. She came back and Nathan favored us with an absolutely stunning rendition of "O Holy Night". Since then we have had Shannon Winkle, Jason Graf and Mike (Frosty) Shepherd and others.
This year was so awesome we had Madi and Becca start out with "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" then our Bishop's 3 children Louisa, Daniel, and Kathryn played several selections on their violins. Then the Mother of the 3 talented children, Tara Skouson, played a beautiful Harp number that was so fabulous. David Skouson, our Bishop, played a piano solo that was like no other. He sounds better than the original!!! They are such a talented and fun family!!! Then we had a unique treat from a Family in our ward the Peterson's Braden on Bag Pipes, Zac on drums, and their Mom Marci on big base drum. It was fabulous!!! Then, Ayna Egbert, an adorable girl in our ward from Russia sang "What Child Is This" in Russian. Her Mother was here visiting for Christmas and needless to say, she was a Mom with proud tears in her eyes!!! Then Karla Huntsman told a precious story of a forest pine tree, trying to be the Queens Christmas Tree, but couldn't help his compassion to shelter a rabbit, a bird, and a deer which bent his branches permanently...it was a great story! We were then favored by a unique Christmas Lullaby sang by Shannon Winkle and it was so touching!!! She certainly is a talented lady!!! And to top it all off a F-16 fighter jet pilot, from Lenny & Amanda's ward, Mike Shepherd sang "O Holy Night" we have not been disappointed yet. What wonderful people they are to share their talents with us. Bishop Skouson called it Larry's command performance! I would have to agree...he works on it all year. The next day in church Shannon Winkle, Diana Ludwig and Anya Egbert sang in Sacrament Meeting..."O Holy Night" so after Larry went up to them and said "Great audition and you are in for next year. MERYY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TOO!!!

We had to take all our furniture out of the living and dining room to make seating for everyone. I think we had about 50 people here!!! What a fabulous night with soup and food and friends and entertainment like nothing you have ever experienced!!! THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU THAT BLESSED OUR LIVES WITH YOUR TALENT!!!

Well It's Been OVER a Month So Here Goes!!!

Hi Everyone...I am trying to be more timely in my posts. This picture is from our Hawaii trip two years ago! Our computer won't cooperate in letting up download more recent pictures!! These computers can drive a woman CRAZY!!! Well, tonight Larry and I went to the Saturday night session of our Stake Conference and it was FABULOUS!!! They covered marriage, self reliance, and putting forth the effort to know your kids and listen to them and look into their eyes and you will have the power of discernment! President Moody said we need to build strong bridges so our children can follow us and not fall into the rushing rapids in the muddy river below! He said we should interview our kids and us the "For the Strength of Youth" pamphlet! All in all it was a great meeting.

Another great thing I did this week to prove I am not retarded is I took a all day class of Excel 2007 Level one. I even got a certificate!!! So am I smart or what? Next week I am moving on to two more classes "Effective Time Management on Tuesday and on Wednesday Excel 2007 Level 2. Then in December I will b e taking 5 more all day classes. It will include Word 2007 Level 1 & 2, Outlook 2007 Level 1 Business Etiquette and Organizational Skills. That last class I can really use. If you know me very well, then you know what I mean!!! I really like working at Deseret Industries!!! I was really surprised, I didn't think I would like it but you know me...I turn everything into a party!!!

We dressed up for Halloween for my work and Larry even came as Shrek and of course me as Fiona. All my co workers and all the customers loved it and I won the prize for the best costume! I even pinned the triples to my dress but I only had 2 because I couldn't find the other one. I still can't find him and it has been months...I hope he is doing alright without any food or water! I hope CPS doesn't come after me for losing one of my triples. I will let you know when I find him.

Well Larry has been working hard!!! In fact more like a 30 year old then he comes home so tired! With all the lay offs he is doing more and more and more work but we are just so so so grateful that he still has is GREAT JOB at the MIRAGE!!!

WE LOVED coming up for the Taylor Halloween Party. It has been so long since we have gotten to come for that. It was GREAT seeing everyone and having a fun party and getting our faces painted and all the other fun stuff we did!!! I am about the world's worst blogger...I just feel like we are boring and nothing exciting ever happens! So now let me think here. Well, Larry is still working his butt of at the Mirage and comes home spent, as he calls it. The last three months I have been working at Deseret Industries...it is not because I am retarded or handicapped. They have a new vocational program for people like me that can't get a job. You see those 18 years I spent at Dr. Call's office did not prepare me for the next adventure due to the fact that Dr. Call was anti-computer. Therefore, I do not know the denal software needed to land a job. Well the program at DI helps you with classes or business partnering to get the knowledge you need to get the job. Business partnering would be for DI to find a dentist that would let me come work at their office with no charge to them. Deseret Industries would continue to pay me and I would go give the dental office some help and learn the computer dental software at the same time. This is a short term program, around 6 months or so.
We are going to St. George on friday night so we can be there to watch Lindsay cross the finish line on her first marathon. I am so proud of her. Hey if you need a good laugh go to Angie's blog and read about Angie and Camary's gospel teaching moment! It is so funny!!!
We are really hoping to come to the Taylor Family Halloween Party this year. You all need to see Shrek and Fiona in person. Becca has informed us she wants to be one of the triplet's! Well Ta-Ta for now as Tigger would say. Love To One And All!!!

I AM WAY TOO YOUNG TO BE THIS DARN OLD!

Yesterday I was going to update our blog. I tried to get some pictures on but it just didn't work out. I need remedial computer lessons!!! Well, on June 11, 23, 13 Larry and I went to stay at Angie's house in Elk Ridge Utah so we could go to my (get this) "40" year class reunion!!! Wait didn't we just have our 20th about 2 years ago. I am here to tell you Time Flies wheather you are having fun or not!!! I do think it goes even faster when you are having fun.
It was so cool because we had an all girl party on Thursday night...Thanks to Tamara Swenson Cobbley who has a big beautiful house on the hill in Provo. We had tons of great food and a whole bunch of giggling!!! Then Lynette and I had a sleep over at her house, isn't Larry a congenial husband? Lynette is my long time friend from high school and much much more . It is rather funny because at our 20 year reunion it was Mike (Lynette's husband) Lynette and me and at our 40 year reunion it is Lynette, Larry and I. So on friday we picked up Lynette at her Mom's house and went to the reunion. We had a major down pour of rain but it cleared right up and everything was great for the reunion at the High School Court Yard. We had great food and good company. We honored those that had passed on to a better place and we released white ballons in their honor. It was really amazing because all those white balloon stayed together until they were out of sight. At one point 2/3 of the balloons made a heart shape. I kept saying "I sure hope I am not a white balloon at our next reunion." I'm sure I won't be!!! The theme of our reunion was SeniorProm which I took to mean we were having a formal dance (WRONG) it was just a play on words so the beautiful formal I took up there to wear sat in the closet and I wore a skirt and top, way more comfy. I do happen to know I wasn't the only one who brought formal attire!! A couple of the girls wore their high school prom dress pinned to their clothes because those old dresses were just a tad to small. One girl actually wore hers. It was a fun night and then on Saturday morning we rode on a float in the Art City Days Parade and of course my sweet granddaughter Camary had to come be on the float with Grandma Cindy and Camary wore her princess dress and crown. It was so... so...so... Cute!!! Well Happy Summer To All, now go take a nap!!! Love To Ya'll

Just A Hello To You all...

This is a picture of Larry and I a couple of years ago out at Valley Of Fire. I do love those Red Rocks!!! I just thought I would tell you of my latest adventure. On Friday April 25 I went to St. George for a girls weekend reunion. These girls are my 20 plus years Ferron Utah Friends and we have not seen each other in a long while but we picked up as if we had seen each other the week before. The girls were Kara Perry who lives in St. George and hosted the event. Patti Wilson who came all the way from Temonton. Stephanie Wareham who came down from Alpine. Then last but not least Sandy Behling and Jackie Skinner from Ferron, all of those girls managed to ride together in Stephanie's SUV, you can imagine all the fun that ride entailed. Then me from Las Vegas. It was a BLAST!!! I loved every minute of it!!! As you all know friends are a top priority in my life and it was fun to be with them. I would love to host next year, if you girls want to come this far...there is a lot of fun things to do here without crossing the wicked line!!! Speaking of Wicked, how was the play Kara? I want to see that sometime soon. Anyway we shopped til we dropped and ate, laughed, watched Mama Mia and Hair Spray. I fell trying to be a cool Grandma trying on high heels...very hilarious...just ask Patti and Sandyand Kara!!! Then after we left Kara's I went to Lindsay's and saw two of my adorable Grandkids and then I went to see another eternal friend Kathy Petersen and her Mom which was a real treat!! Well until later KEEP SMILING!!! Can you imagine all of us girls including Kathy used to live in Ferron!!!

18 YEARS AT ONE JOB...NOW I AM GOING FOR 18 JOBS IN ONE YEAR AND I AM DOING PRETTY DANG GOOD

Well as most of you know I worked for Dr. Rheen Call for 18 years September 1988 to September 2006 and it was retirement time for him. It was a great job and helped our family very much!!! Well, now it appears I am trying for 18 jobs in one year. Since last July I have worked briefly for LDS Family Services, Hallmark,City of North Las Vegas Detention Center and the most recent job lost was for a
Law Firm and it lasted a whole two weeks and 2 days. It was just too far to drive amoung other reasons. So that is 4. So I only have 14 more by July. I am pretty sure I can handle that. . . don't ya think?

Auri's Birthday is Also St. Patrick's Day

Today is Auri's Birthday and Grandma Cindy took a little trip to St. George to share in the Celebration.Grandma Cindy went up to St. George last night and we went on a beautiful walk in Snow Canyon...It was Heavenly!!! Then we had Golden Spoon frozen yogurt and headed home...very fun Family Home Evening. Auri decided she wanted to sleep with Grandma Cindy on the blow up bed well I woke up in the middle of the night and could not find Auri so I opened the bedroom door and there was Auri on the floor on the side of the bed! She had slipped off the bed and didn't even know it so I got her back in bed and we went to La La Land again! This morning we woke up and had Green Shamrock Pancakes for birthday breakfast and Kathy Peterson joined us also! Then we were off to Target to get Auri a birthday present and she chose Polly Pockets and they sure are cute!!! I headed home about 2pm Nevada time and got home in good time and I didn't speed!!! HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY AURI!!! WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!

CINDY IS NOT LONGER IN JAIL OR WORKING!!

Well, it has been a while since I posted so here we go again. I am not working at the North Las Vegas Detention Center any longer...it is a pretty HARSH place to work. So I am looking again. I am also making many quilts again and I plan to get a web site "CINDY'S CREATIONS" so I must get to work on that plan, I am going to sell quilts and modest Prom Dresses and anything else someone may want.
Larry and I went as guests of the Mirage Hotel to see Terry Fader, the ventriloquist and impersonator that won America's Got Talent. He really does have talent...I can't believe all the different voices he does. At the end his frog friend Winston and Terry sang Louis Armstrong's "It's a Wonderful World" Winston sang in Kermit the Frog voice and Terry sang in Louis Armstrong's voice ...It was so FABULOUS!!! We really enjoyed it. I wish you were all there with us!!! Maybe next time.

Cindy is in Jail

Hi Everyone...It has been a month since I last posted but I thought I would give you an update on Larry and I. Well On December 22, 2008 I started working at the North Las Vegas Detention Center so like Lenny I am part of the North Las Vegas Police Department. I am an Inmate Record Sprecialist or in short an IRS not to be confused with Internal Revenue Service!!! I am liking it alot, it is a good paying but there is so much to learn my brain is having a hard time retaining. all this stuff but they are very nice and they give us plenty of time for training. I am determined to be the best DARN Inmatre Record Specialist in the whole place. I will post a picture of the facility as soon as I can get one. WELL WISH ME LUCK!!! LOVE TO ALL!!!

O Holy Night

We had our annual O Holy Night Gala on friday the 12th, it was a GREAT success. We had soups, rolls, veggies etc. About 30 people, World class Harpist and Pianoist, 3 violins, 2 soloists, one from Broadway, the harpist and Pianist also played on Broadway, they are our Bishop David Skouson, his wife Tara, soloists Shannon Winkle, and Jason Graf, violinists, Luisa, Daniel, and Katherine Skouson. The Skouson family played a medoly of Christmas songs, Shannon sang O come Emmanuel, and Breath of Heaven, and Jason sang O Holy Night. To Start the program our Madi and her freind Loron sang, I want a hippopotamus for Christmas, fun was had by all. It was a Magical Night, a Great way to celebrate this Christmas Time. I have been waiting for almost a year... and finally got the job for the City of North Las Vegas. My title is Inmate Records Specialist. YIP that's right I will be in the detention center with all those criminals. Thankfully, I will be behind glass as I input their information into the computer and I guess when I start on December 22, I will know more about what my duties will involve. I do know the pay is good and I get 3 weeks vacation with a full benefit package for Larry and I at no cost to us!!! YIPEE I O KI YA!!!! Yes I am so excited and Larry is even happier!!! It's catch up time for us and I couldn't be happier!!!

The other night the Bishop called and asked if he could come by I need to talk to your wife, Larry answered the phone and said of course. So he told me he was going to release me as 1st counselor in the primary and he wanted me to be Compassionate Service Leader. I was surprised to say the least!!! I know I will love this new calling! Ever since I was Relief Society President I thought Compassionate Service would be a nice calling. So here I go wish me luck!!

Well, it certainly has been a long while since I blogged. I guess I think I am boring. Today I was out and about and I decided I would go to Arbys drive through and get the 5 for $5.95 Arby's Roast beef sandwiches and low and behold the car in front of me was from Florida and it was a Rolls Royce...I never, ever, even considered that a possiblity. It just seems like someone in a Rolls Royce should be eating at a five star restaurant...Like perhaps the Four Seasons at Mandalay Bay or any of the Resorts on the strip have very upscale gourmet places to eat...but Arby's was quite a surprise to me!!! What do you think???

Hi everyone!!! How are all of you doing? I just thought I would give all of you a little update, minus pictures. We had the privledge of having Auri and Andrew, Lindsay and Michael's, cute little ones for the week end while they had a get away for Lindsay's birthday. They just stayed in Las Vegas and played around, they went a saw "Phantom of the Opera" one of my all time favorites. You should see Lindsay in stilettos (I guess that is how you spell it). Now this week late on Wednesday night Angie and Tracy and their six cuties will be coming down for a few days!! So these are the things Mothers live for...to spend time with their families!!!

As I was saying, and now I have to rewrite it, maybe this is why I don't blog as much as I should something always seems to go wrong. OK Read the post below first then this one. As I said I went to Time Out for Women over the week end. On friday night we heard from Hilary Weeks and her lovely musical talents, then we heard from a Greek Convert, Alia Gourgouris, (which comes from the greek work to be gorgous) just kidding!!! We were told not to ask him anything about "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" so it was hard but I held back and was obedient!!! Then the fun began...Jason Deere and the Nashville Tribute Band came and performed all the music from a "Nashville Tribute to The Prophet Joseph" and "TREK". IT WAS FABULOUS!!! Mindy Gledhill also sang and this up and coming young man in Nashville, Tim Gates, who is origianally from Richfield Utah and he was great!!
Then on Saturday we heard from Virginia Hinckley Pearce (awesome) and Michael Wilcox, we all know him, he has been around for many moons. Michael's topic was "Accents of Wonder". We heard more from Hilary Weeks throughout the day and our other presenters were Pam Hansen, author of "Running with Angels" she spoke about having a good body image. Your dress size or what the scales say does not determine you self worth!!! Amanda Dickson, she was hilarious, she was a comedian or at least it seems. She married later in life and had her first baby at 41. She has two little boys and 3 step teens...FUN!! She was formerly a Federal defense attorney, Disk Jockey and a bunch of other stuff. The title of her persentation was "Life Is A Mess...And Other Relizations That Lead To Happiness" Funny...funny...funny!!! Then last but not least was, none other than Chris Stewart, author of the Great & Terrible Series!!! His topic was..."Redefining Joy" All in all it was fabulous and if you have the chance to go...DO IT!!!

Larry and I were so excited when Nathan, Suzie and Sydney Balzar came by to visit on Thursday August 14. Their sweet one year old daughter is such a cutie, however, we could not get her to smile for the camera. They came from New Jersey to visit family in Utah. After they spent time in northern Utah they came down to St. George to see more family and decided to come to Las Vegas to see a few friends. Of course they wanted to visit with some of their Mama Mia friends and we were lucky enough to get a visit also. They are doing really well. Nathan has been on broadway, in the production of Legally Blonde and also Damn Yankees and next up is Brigadoon.(I hope I spelled that right). It was just a fun time to spend with them. They are truely wonderful people and we were so happy to see them. Nathan, Suzie and Sydney Thanks for coming WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!

THE REST OF THE STORY

This picture was taken last year in September in Heber Utah at the Church's mega girls camp area. We had a wonderful time!!! Our whole family is here although Xander was still in the oven. We wanted to get married in the Temple but neither of us knew the gospel at all so we decided to get married and go to the Temple on our One Year anniversary. So here is the engagment story and kind of the story of our life. It was near Father's Day and Larry was at my house and we were going to Provo so my Mom gave me $20 and asked me to get my Dad a robe for Fathers. On our way to Provo we decided we were going to go look at engagement rings and being the young fools we were, we went directly to Bullock and Lossee (a jewlery store) and we looked at rings and of course I found one I loved so Larry gave them the $20 my Mom had given me to buy my Dad's Fathers Day present as a down payment on my ring...CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? So we immediately drove down University Avenue, where Larry lived at the time and he asked his Mom to loan him $20. So we did what my Mom wanted us to do and later that day we went and picked up my ring. There on University Avenue in the Ambulance/Hearse right in front of Bullock and Lossee Larry asked me to marry him. We set our wedding date for November 28, 1969. The day I sent out our wedding invitations he got his draft notice to report to Fort Lewis Washington one week after our wedding day. By the way we were married by my Bishop Collin Allen in the Springville Art Museum.
On a very blizzardy early morning, one week after our wedding I drove through snow drifts to take him to Provo to get on the bus for Salt Lake City and then he would fly to Ft. Lewis. You can imagine how we felt!!! He was there for about one week and they sent him home for three weeks for Christmas, it was great having him home. We still had our apartment which was a wing of an old pioneer home. Then he had to go back so I move all our stuff out of the apartment and moved in with my Mom. My Dad was working in California. About a week later Larry called and said while they were doing basic training they had to carry a big guy on their back and run around the barracks. He collapsed because we all know he has bad knees. So he went to the hospital and the Dr. said if you want you can get out of the army because you have a real bad knee. So, of course, he said where do I sign. So I called our landlord Mr.Kimball and said can we still have the apartment because my husband is getting out of the army. He was in for a total of 52 days! No veteran benefits for us. He would have gone straight to Viet Nam in infantry. The rest is history!!! For Tiff's sake I have to humiliate myself by telling about my cute cousin. One day Larry was at my Grandma's house to see me. This was quite early in our courtship and I handed him a picture of me and said this is my cousin don't you think she is cute? Of course he knew it was me......So there you go Tiff!!

Well, when I got to Guri, Venezuela my Dad had a job ready for me and the other girl and we worked in an office with a bunch of people who spoke spanish and a lady from Cuba. She fed us a nice Cuban dinner one night but of course I was a very picky eater at that time so I am sure I would appreciate it alot more now. We had to go through all these files...it was just busy work so we could have a job. While I was there this one guy kept after me to go out with him so I started dating him and when I got back to Utah I was met at the airport by my Grandparents Bird and my steady boyfriend Larry. Well, I had decided to break up with Larry so I did and he was not to happy with me. In fact one time I was walking down the street and he rode by and flipped me off...can you imagine that??? I just could not believe he did that. I was so nieve!!! Well, I went through the school year having fun like I always do and I dated then in April here comes Larry to my house on Easter Sunday, it was snowing and he asked me to go for a ride with him. This time he was driving that black ambulance/hurse. So we drove all over Utah county and ended up at Stan's on 9th east for a hamburger. We have been together ever since!!!
On my 18th birthday I ditched school and Larry took me to Salt Lake City to buy my graduation dress. On the way up he told me he wanted to show me something really cool...you know like FAR OUT!!! So he had no religious intention at all but he took me to Temple Square. I had never been there in my life and the minute I stepped onto that sacred ground I had the spiritual experience of my life. Larry just wanted to show me how they had painted the heavens, planets, stars etc. above the Chistis. I remember walking past the statues of Joseph and Oliver receiving the Aaronic preisthood, I had know idea what it was but I was feeling the spirit so strong. Now at this point we were just dating, no talk of marriage or engagment. I said to Larry... with wide eyes "Lar, we need to change our lives and get into the church. He looked at me and said "Cool, that would be Far Out! I said you know we would have to dump all of our friends because we couldn't be good and be friends with them. I don't know if he thought I was serious or not but I was. We made our way into the Visitors Center and I just walked around wide eyed and my mouth hanging open and when I saw the statue of Christ, the spirit told me then and there that the Restored Gospel was true!!! So I don't really know how the subject of marriage came up but it was probably me that mentioned it but not that day is was a month or two later. We were engaged on July 24, 1969. Third Verse I will tell you the whole engagment story...it is quite funny!!!

Well you asked to hear the story of how your Dad and I met. We were at a football game in Springville. Wouldn't you know it he was on crutches because he had just had knee surgery so my friend Debbie Lawrence, who had dated Larry a couple of times, introduced us. You know me when I am all excited about something I like to SHARE!!! So after being intoduced we started small talk and I said guess what...I am getting skiis for Christmas and he said "So What Big Deal"
I gave him one of my dirty looks and walked away and thought "What a Jerk" So I didn't see much of him or did I care to see him. I think he danced with me at the Saturday Night Dances. I happened to tell him I had bought a beautiful formal for Home Coming but nobody had asked me to go. He then said I will take you to you Junior Prom in the Spring. I thought "Yeah Right". Well along about April of 1968 he shows up at my house and asked me to go for a ride with him in his cool panel truck, so I did. He asked me if I still wanted to go to Prom with him and I said "sure why not"? So we went to Prom and I went with him to his Senior Dinner, he lived in Provo and it was his Graduation year. I think the dinner was at BYU somewhere. It was nice and we had a good time!

Then school was out and somewhere along the way he asked me to go steady with him so he gave me his class ring. It wasn't too long after that, he and my Grandma & Grandpa Bird took me to the airport so I could go to Venezuela for the summer and be with my family. I lived in Mapleton with Grandma & Grandpa Stone for my junior and senior year. So there I was all alone traveling to Venezuela...it was a little scary!!! I spent the first night in San Francisco and I met up with a girl who was traveling to Venezuela with me. Well after a horrid long flight from San Francisco to Caracus her parents were there to met her and take her the rest of the way. So here I was in Caracus all alone for another night. The courier picked me up and took me to my hotel. I remember it being so humid and it was stifling! Well the clerk at the hotel showed me to me room and asked me if I had ever had mango or papia and I said no. He just had to get some for me and I was getting scared and I thought he would never leave because I wanted to curl my hair so it wouldn't be so frizzy. I didn't sleep at all that night, it was awful. In the morning the courier picked me up and took me to the airport to take this 2 bit propellor airplane to Puerto Ordez where my family would pick me up and take me by car to Guri, where they lived.

Tiffany and I went to Target and we saw this 1951 Chevrolet and this car reminded me so much of the Pontiac Ambulance/Hearse Larry bought from a Mortician in Pleasant Grove in 1968. It was black and instead of sedan like this one it was a cross between a tall station wagon and a panel truck like they used to have in the old days before vans. I wish we had a picture of it. We had so much fun in the ambulance/hearse. It even had blinds in the long side windows in the back. When he first bought it, the red emergency lights still worked. It didn't take too long before we were riding down the road in Orem and Larry said "Watch This" and he turned on the red lights and the cars all pulled over and away we went until the Police Officer pulled us over and gave Larry a screw driver and said take them out. So he had to take out the red emergency lights and give them to the cops. That did not end our fun in the ambulance/hearse. Eventually he got a bumper sticker that said "Don't laugh your daughter might be inside." My parents and brothers returned from Venezuela for my High School Graduation, to find me dating this guy with medium long curly hair, buckskin fringe jacket and a black 1951 Pontiac Ambulance/Hearst that said "Don't laugh your daughter might be inside"
Once we were riding in that vehicle up Hobble Creek Canyon and the spriklers were on at the Golf Course and just as we drove past, my window was open, Larry said" watch out" and I looked at him and said "what" just as the sprinkler missed me and hit him smack in the face...tee hee!!!

Well, I have been busy making a baby quilt for a family Larry & I home teach. It was a fun project and I hope the picture does it justice. We also have a sewing mini class at our house once a month. This month we made full aprons. Mine is black back ground with red cherries and green leaves. I was pleased with the way it turned out.

During the last week or so we have been blessed to have our Grandchildren around. Angie came last Monday 06/16/08 with 5 of her six monkeys. Ryan stayed in Cedar City to go to soccor camp, we were so sad to miss him, but we will hopefully see him over the July 4th holiday!!! Lenny and Amanda had the rare opportunity to get out of Dodge, oops I mean Las Vegas. Lenny is on call for S.W.A.T. 24/7. They had a wonderful 5 day trip to San Francisco and we got yummy Ghirardelli Choclate (OK stop drolling) and the blessing and privledge of watching over their 3 monkeys. So that was 8 out of 11 monkeys at one time and what a wonderful Barrell of Monkeys it was!!! So this week we get to watch Auri & Andrew for 4 days while their adventurous parents go to Oregon white water rafting and who knows what else, to quote my best friend Michelle Stewart "Those two (Mike & Lindsay) don't let any grass grow under their feet." Very well said Michelle!!! So within a matter of less than 2 weeks we will have had 10 of 11 Grandchildren in our tender loving care...WHAT A BLESSING!!! We miss you Ryan.

This is Cindy here and I just wanted to say how grateful I am for a Wonderful Family!!! I went to see a sister in our ward today, I am her visiting teacher. I have known her for years, probably about 10 years because I met their Family when I was R.S. President and I was called for that about 10 years ago. Her family has more problems than I have ever heard of one family having in my entire life. Very many of these problems have been caused by poor choices made on the part of her daughters. One horrid thing after another!!! I just want to say "THANK YOU" to Angie, Tracy & Family, Lenny, Amanda & Family, Tiffany, Lindsay, Michael & Family for being such Strong in the Gospel Families and such wonderful and caring families. I am so proud of all of you and the decent, mature, problem solving adults that you are. I also would like to say "THANKS" for all the love and care you show to your Dad and I!!!

on june 2 larry went to the dr and was released to go back to work on monday june 9. he is excited to be staring his work day at 4 am can you belive he has to be there that early? what ever it takes to beat the heat at least beat the hottest part of the day right? today he hasn't been using a cane or a walker and is doing good. he also painted my toe nails he is a great husband. i cant belive tiff didnt take a picture of him painting my toe nails he rarley rarley will co that for any one. things are going good have a great day!!!!!

Larry's knee is getting better about 3 weeks after the surgry the staples came out (this is the best picture anyone got after the staples were removed. Sorry we didnt get any while they were being removed) now he is walking with a cane instead of a walker (aren't the stockings he is wearing the best ever?) and he goes on walks down the street he is getting out and making appearences in places, things are looking good for larry's knee. Thank heavens he had it done. He is excited to be pain free and will be able to do more outside activities with no pain.

(Tiffany gets so sick of us not doing our blog she does it for us. It's great having a blogist for a daughter. Really she was just bored...and we appreciate her help!!!)

So here is shrek in the hospital after surgery, the morphine he was taking was great for all of us, we love morphine!He loved it so much he stayed in the constant motion machine all day the first day and all night thats a great thing too, but drugs are much better!
After getting home and the home health nurse came to admit shreck for physcaly thyerpy she changed the dressing on his knee. We couldnt resist taking pictures of the knee its shelf (it was shocking that several days after the morphine was taken away and a new kind of pain med was given he didnt actually turn green on us we were lucky)
Well maybe not so lucky for us considering this is papa larry now. uuuggg we have to push him around now, what have we gottn ourselves into now?

Hi everyone, well I finally went under the knife tuesday May 13,(Cindys birthday ) and had a total knee on the left side. Ive needed it for years, all went very well. I will tell you one thing IT HURTS BAD, but Iam doing very well. Doctor Baldauf is great, he tolded Cindy I would love him in about 2 months, now its just work hard to get it and me all better. I have very good range of movement, and I can walk without the walker, for about 1oo feet or so. Not to bad for 10 days away from when I was cut open and had the bones cut, and a metal and plastic knee put in. Things are going well here, everyone is healthy and doing great , Ike hit a triple, and a double last nite at his game. We love you all, PaPa Larry and Grandma Cindy

Well this is not a very pleasant story!!! It was until I got stopped by the police!!! Well, you all know how much I love my Sparklie Green Mustang. Of course, Larry insisted it had to be a GT which means it is a V8 engine and has tons of power and we have never been able to put the petal to the metal and have it top out. That car just wants to go faster and faster and faster.
My brother David, who by the way, is a saint, and has been referred to as a gentle giant, moved from Craig Colorado to Syracuse Utah about six months ago. He was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease about 2 and 1/2 years ago. Apparently, the Neurologist in Craig Colorado didn't really give him the treatment he needed so he was going down hill and had not seen a doctor in Utah yet because records had not been sent etc. etc. etc. Last Monday April 21 I decided to take a trip to Utah and spend some time with my brother. I do apologize to all of you that I would have loved to stop and see but didn't have enough time. I stayed with Lindsay on Monday night and Tues. morning, then it was on to Angie's for Tues. night and Wed. morning. Which was Ryan's 15th birthday. Then it was on to Dave Bird's house in Syracuse. We had some great quality time together while his sweet wife, Paulette, is busting her buns getting a real estate business going with her sister, Colleen, who has worked this business for several years and done very well. So we just hung out and spent time together. On friday he had an appointment with a Neurologist that specializes in Parkinsons so, of course, being the way I am I wanted to go with Dave and Paulette to the appointment. The Dr., I feel, has already helped tremendously and has ordered a bunch of tests so we can see just where he is in the whole process. He has had to go on permanent disability which is very hard for him. I could go on for hours about what his Dr. in Colorado did not do for him but I will spare you that, since I don't even know the whole story!!! After the Dr. appt. I got a wild hair and decided I was ready to go home and see my sweetie. I had planned to possibly stay at Angie's and go home Saturday morning but once I left I wanted to sleep in my own bed. I stopped at the cemetary and groomed my Mom's head stone and placed a beautiful bunch of silk flowers, which I hope will still look good for Mother's Day. I was pooped after that hour of work but was still determined to get home to good old North Las Vegas.
I have always tried my best to keep my speed under 85 because I don't want no stinkin' speeding tickets and to this point I have done quite well. After going past Nephi something got into me...it's like my evil twin took over and I started going faster and faster even on cruse control. My thought was this is so fun I bet I can go fast just this once (Please don't tell Beth, she would kill me) so the cars with boys in behind me loved it. It was like a caravan of speeders. They followed everything I did, and I am sure they thought if a cop comes along she will get the ticket. I sure don't know where that Highway Patrolman came from or how long he followed me. I bet those boys were laughing all the way down the road. I think he was probably coming the other direction. When I saw those lights flashing you can imagine how I felt, by the way I was listening to President Hinckley's autobiography "Go Forward with Faith" you would think that might slow me down, but no way!!!
The windows in my mustang are tinted really dark-that is the way we bought it and it looks cool so we kept it!!! although, sometimes at night I have to roll down my window so I can see to back up. I am sure when I finally got stopped and that policeman got out of his car he was expecting to see some gang banger from Vegas, who had just made a drug run. When I rolled down my window and he saw me his mouth dropped and he said "Do you know what the speed limit is?" I said "75" he said "Do you know how fast you were going?" I said "a-a-a-a-a-a how fast" He said 106 mph and I said "I thought I was just staying with the flow of traffic." He said "Are you kidding, you were passing everyone!!!" All I could say is I am sorry. So he asked for my licence and I gave it to him with my proof of insurance and registration and he walked back to his car. I then called Larry, which fortunately for me, all he could do was laugh. I was just seeing how fast I could get to Fillmore!!! Well, when the nice Highway Patrol Officer came back he gave me my big fat ticket and he said I only wrote you up for 105 that saved you some money. Then he said your tinted windows are too dark even for Nevada. I then said "We bought this car used and that is the way it came and when we registered it nobody said anything." He said and the tint on your little side back windows is starting to peel off in the corners." to which I said "Yes, I know and my grandkids pick at it" and then he said "WELL, LET'S KEEP GRANDMA ALIVE." Then he told me to call and they would probably let me pay $50. a month for the rest of my life, no it was $335. if he had written me up for 106 it would have been $435.
He said for me to call within two weeks or they would add $50 and if I didn't call within a month they would issue a warrant for my arrest. So there you have it the little old lady from North Las Vegas Go Granny, Go Granny, Go Granny, Go!!! I am sure you have heard that song only it was the little old lady from Pasadina. Then Lenny tells me when he was on Highway Patrol they took anyone going over 100 mph to jail. So needless to say I have learned a big expensive lesson and I didn't get home until after midnight. My kids have given me a real bad time. Angie said "We don't want to be planning a funeral." Mike said "That is so dangerous!" I was just having fun and I thought I was in perfect control. Oh Well, lesson learned. We do pay for our education one way or another!!! Don't We? Love To All Of You and I am glad I'm not dead or in jail!!!

Here are a few pictures from our Easter Saturday in Pahrump. Amanda's Dad & Mom have a travel trailer and Mary(the Mom) works for Terrible Herbst Founder Jerry Herbst. There is a Terrible Herbst RV Park in Pahrump and it's really nice with a pond complete with paddle boats, canoes, ducks, fountains and a swimming pool complete with a hot tub. We had a great time!!!
Grandma Cindy made little chickens with the kids and they colored a buzzilion Easter Eggs. A friend of Rex & Amy's,(Amanda's sister) Chis & Suzanne Alexander provideed the Easter Egg hunt to top all Easter Egg Hunts. There were 139 boiled eggs. The adults and children alike colored eggs. The adults colored them in camo to blend in with the tree trunks. Chris hid all the eggs, a tradition that came from his Mom when he was a kid. He would dig up a little patch of grass and put an egg in then cover it up. He would hide them under the gravel, on tree trunks and anywhere else he could think of. The eggs were all numbered and catalogued, it was quite the process. Eggs numbers 1-20 were for the two little kids and all the rest of the eggs were fair game for all the kids. When all was said and done the kids got certain prizes for certain egg numbers, not too much candy. It was an incredible sight to see, I have never seen such an elaborate Easter egg hunt in my entire 56 years of life. It was really fun. We BBQed hot dogs and hambers and everyone brought side dishes. Church today was wonderful with talks on the Resurection and fabulous music by the choir and our Bishop played the Organ and Piano and he has played on Broadway and is so good and his wife is a harpist and she is Choir leader, so needless to say it was awesome!!! HAPPY EASTER to all of you and I wish you all were there with us, that would have made a perfect day!!!

HI EVERYONE!!! Today I went to a funeral for a little 10 week old baby girl, Jacey Hout. She died last Sunday night while staying with her Grandmother, Colleen, Heather (she is the Mom) and Colleen is Heather's Mom. Colleen is a very sweet wonderful lady and we love her and Heather and the whole family!!! It was so sad, the funeral, I can't imagine the anguish that family is going through. They need our prayers, even if you don't know them. Jacey was an adorable blue eyed beauty, she was #4, she has two older sisters and one brother and of course her Daddy, Brian.
I am just so very grateful for our family all of you...my sons Lenny, Tracy, & Mike my daughters Angie, Amanda, Tiffany & Lindsay and my precious grandchildren Ryan, Rusty, Sam, Ike, Madi, Finlay, Becca, Auri, Camary, Andrew and Xander! I am also thankful for the good things my parents taught me and for an angel Mother and for wonderful in-laws Don & Beth and all of my brothers and their families and Larry's brothers and sister and their families. I am so thankful for goodly Grandparents and the restored gospel, the Temple, the new and everlasting covenant of marriage and family. I Love that Families can be Together Forever!!! And I love all of you and all my wonderful awesome friends...you know who you are, too many to name. Thanks!

Well.. I will try to update our lives quickly so I can go get a job...only thing we need is the money... I quite like staying home but that is not to be for now but I will admitt I do better with structure in my life, otherwise I just do what I want like paint Madi & Becca's bedroom and get it all cute or make one of my many grandsons a quilt for his upcoming birthday or watch HGTV and get fabulous ideas which I rarely act on and just be lazy... oh by the way Becca sleeps over at Papa Larry and Grandma Cindy's house 3 or 4 times a week and we love it!!! I am in the primary presidentcy and I love those kids!!! What cuties!!! Larry teaches gospel doctrine but on this past Sunday he went to Nascar. I gave him a really hard time but he just kept talking about this thing called free agency and I said what am I going to tell all those people at church when they ask where you are and he said just tell them I am on the road...to hell that is. He really enjoyed the race though. I guess it's not my place to judge someone else has that privledge, THANK GOODNESS!!! Are any of you out there "Extreme Makeover Home Edition" fans? I sure am I love that show!!!
We had a great Larry & Cindy Family reunion over Presidents Day weekend. Everyone came down here and we went way out in the desert and shot gun.(no snow play this year) We all got to shoot Lenny's M4 Machine Gun...what a rush!!! TA TA for now! Love to all of you, L&C

I am not good at posting pictures...Our computer needs a little help from her friend Tracy Lofthouse. I bought Larry an ipod for Christmas, it's the one with 160 gigs and sometimes I feel like I have been replaced by technology, HE LOVES IT!!!
I am so blessed to have at least 3 of my 11 grandchildren live close to me. We went to the Alvin movie on Saturday (by the way, the voice of Simon is done by Mathew Grey Gubler who is the son of a very good friend of mine Mollie Gubler he also plays the socially challenged but brillant Dr. Spencer Reid in the show "Criminal Minds) when Lenny dropped us off at our house Becca got out of the suburban and said OK I am home now see ya later Mom & Dad. She claims our house as hers and we do enjoy having her here. While Madi and Ike were on track break from Thanksgiving until after New Years (they went back to school today) they spent more time here also. Ike is not too much into sleeping over at Grandma Cindy's but he did stay over a couple of times as for Madi & Becca it was 2-4 times a week. I love every minute of it. By the way can Auri & Camary come for a sleep over?
Well, I am supposed to be working on my resume so I can go get a job, I've been off for over a year and it's time to go to work. You can see how excited I am about it. It's finding a job I like that will be the problem but what is that quote "Don't do what you like, like what you do." I love those Mary Englebriet day by day calendars that have all of those cute quotes!!! That is where I got that from.
Hey Leisy, did is snow alot in (holy) Toledo, like it did in Utah? We did not even get to go to Xander's blessing because of the snow storms and wind one right after the other and this is one sad Grandma:( !!! Well, we have not posted for a reeeally long time... Can you believe that whirlwind we just went through, that we call Christmas??? That is what the title was referring to. It went so fast I felt like I was in a hurricane!!! How about you?
We had a wonderful Christmas and we enjoyed being with the family for the Taylor Family Christmas Party. It was fun to even have Santa drop by. He told me he just loved coming and we have such an awesome family!!! Hearing the Lofthouse Family sing "Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer" was such a hoot considering it was me (Grandma Cindy) they were singing about!!! I think Grandma Taylor even enjoyed a little one on one with Santa!!!
Amanda got her initial surgical cast off and put into a hard cast in the color of black. I am sure it is her hope that all this surgery has come to an end. They did some tendon work and realigned her heel so now she actually has an arch, so things are looking up!!!

Disneyland/Becca's Birthday

I will try to keep this short and sweet but I write exactly how I talk and I have to explain every detail!!! We went to Disneyland last week we left on Sunday December 2 and came home late, late, late Wednesday night. We were coming home on Thursday but Lenny likes to fly (oops I mean drive fast) at night so the kids will be asleep and it is much more peaceful. So we got home in about 3& 1/2 hours. It was nice to be home when we woke up the next morning. We did 3 day park hopper and this is the first year they have made the Castle look like it is cover with ice and snow and big long icesicles it was stunning. I will get the picture from Amanda and post it...simply incredible. For Becca's birthday on Dec. 4 we had breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, however, Lilo was sick and could not be there. Goofy and Max and Daisy and Minnie and of course Stitch were all there and not very many people. Unfortuneatly, Ike had a fever and was not feeling well so he and Lenny dropped us off at breakfast and went back to the Hotel and Ike slept for a while and then felt a bit better and came and met us at Disney Land. He was a trooper, considering when Amanda took him to the Dr. when we got home he had strep. The girls had a blast with all the characters and Goofy sat down and pretended to eat Becca's breakfast. Then Stitch sat down and pretended to eat the rest of her breakfast. They giggled and ran around and got pictures taken and played with the charactors and had a blast. That was our 2nd day at Disneyland. We did all of both parks. If you click on the picture from the Tower of Terror look at Amanda (she looks terrified) and her 3 little kids are all loving it, flashing the hang loose sign and smiling. To get Papa Larry on that was a miracle and it was only to impress his grandchildren and he did it 3 times. I was in shock...he usually passes on those kinds or rides. We all love Soaring over California...it is quite the treat. You experience something you would never get to experience any other way. Oh, the way they end the evening in Disneyland with the fireworks and then snowing on main street accompanied with Christmas carols is a perfect end to a perfect day!!! We got to do that 2 of the days. This time of year they take turns which park stays open late each night. In California Adventure they had performances from "High School Musical" several times in the afternoon and evening...the kids loved it!!! I have got to watch those 2 movies, I have really missed out, they say!!! We did not get to do the new Nemo ride because we were not willing to wait that long in the line! They have done some awesome changes in Pirates of the Carribean which include Jack Sparrow. Well, Ta Ta For Now Love Ya!!!

Oh Holy Night Party

Well, Hi it's been a while since we posted!!! It seems like life is a whirl wind sometimes!!! Well, as some of you know Larry's favorite song of all time (at least Christmas) is Oh Holy Night. Over the years he has collected many artists versions of Oh Holy Night. His least favorite is Michael Bolton and his favorite it John Berry who is a country singer who did not become famous because he got sick and couldn't continue his career. Well, Larry is always looking for someone to sing this song to him in person. Two years ago he got Nathan Balsar to sing it for him. Nathan has done many plays at Tuacan and was here in Mama Mia and traveled with Kathy Rigby in Peter Pan as a pirate. He is so talented by now lives in New Jersey and is pursuing his career in New York. He was just in the musical "Legally Blonde" it was on MTV so we got to see him in it. Well, as luck would have it, we have MORE TALENT in our ward (this is a different ward than we were in with the Balsars). Our Bishop and his wife both performed on Broadway and lived in New York for a while. Our Bishop, David Skousen plays the organ, piano and leads orchestras, choirs etc., his wife Tara plays the Harp like an angel. Then we have Shannon Winkle who sings so, so, so, awesomely!!!! Well, Shannon and her husband and new baby came and the Skousen's were supposed to come too but being Bishop had to go on an 11 year old scout camp so we got another talented member of our ward to play the piano. We had dinner and then we were sung to by one of the best and it was un- believable!!! Shannon sings in Gladys Knights Choir and teaches singing and dancing etc. anyway it was a wonderful experience and a great way to start the holidays. We Are Thankful For All Of You!!!

Hi Everyone:D We just wanted to make a post. We had a primary activity on Saturday, I was in charge of it cause I am 1st counselor, It was titled "Gratitude Attitude." This is how I have been feeling ever since. I am so thankful for all of you...our friends and family!!! Madi & Becca wanted to go to church with us on Sunday because it was my turn for "Sharing Time" and we had made "Gratitude Journals" for all the kids and a house out of a cardboard box and of course artist Madi & Becca helped with all of that. In the house were many things we are thankful for so the kids loved it and I am always crazed after Primary is over!!! During Fast & Testimony meeting the girls kept begging Larry to go bear his testimony which he never does because he does it when he gives his Gospel Doctrine lessons. So the girls persisted and Larry said "have you got a dollar, if you do I will" so they proceed to get a dollar out of my purse and he had to do it. Then they would not give up until I had gone up too. I totally did what you are not supposed to do when bearing your testimony and that is told a story about when we were first put back in this ward last year and Larry and I were on the stand to speak in Sacrament Meeting and the guy playing the organ is expert!!! He and his wife lived in NYC and played on Broadway and Larry leaned over to me and said "Hey ask him to play In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida so I leaned my head over and the organist, who is now our Bishop Skousen, made eye contact with me and I said "Hey Larry wants you to play In-A-Gadda--Da-Vida he just kind of snickered but after Sacrament Meeting was over and the chapel had clearned out he played a couple of notes of it. So I kind of told that story in my testimony. I wonder if that will be in the book in heaven that records our testimonies...I hope I am not in trouble!!! Larry is so excited because he is the absolute KING of Christmas music, in fact he is famous for it!!! We have a young Mother in our ward that used to sing on Broadway and is so cute, she just had a baby boy and she is going to come over before Christmas and sing "O Holy Night" for Larry accompanied by Bishop Skousen and his cute wife Tara will play the Harp...Are we lucky or what??? LOVE TO ALL OF YOU AND WE ARE SO THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU IN OUR LIVES...IS BLOGGING GREAT OR WHAT!!!

We drove around and found a look out point and this girl and her weird boyfriend were selling hand made jewelery. The jewelery was made from these little pods you get from the ocean. She would put a pod and a bead anyway it was really quite unique. I will take a picture and post it.Then we played at the beach all day and we were worn out so we had dinner at Island Cheese-burger and were they ever delicious and then we just went back to the condo and took it easy. What a laid back way of life they live. I think we should all move there, don't you???

Hi everyone...Cindy here...Well, we did have a wonderful time on Maui! It seems like a wonderful dream. We have been really busy, last week on Wednesday I went to Anahiem for an Arbonne Seminar. It was awesome, of course I took the camera with me so Larry couldn't post any of the Maui pictures. We flew to Maui nonstop on Monday October 15, because of time change we got there just when it was getting dark so we got the rental car and headed for Costso so our first meal on Maui was a Costco hot dog (romantic huh?) The next morning, Tuesday, we decided to take the road to Hana. It is this long drive through lush rain forests and beautiful water falls cascading into clear pools. There is one place on the way on the way up the winding (and I mean winding) road, called Seven Sacred Pools. First of all, there are only five and they are not sacred. Years ago this guy had quite a road side business going with people coming up to see the pools and falls. There is a waterfall, then a pool, then a waterfall. then a pool. When business started dying down he did some advertising calling them the Seven Sacred Pools just to get people up there. Well we had a great time on that, all day expedition. We would stop at roadside vendors and get some homemade coconut candy, and I really don't like bananas but the one I ate there was so yummy. Then we stopped at another place to get handmade Hawaiian jewelry ( some of it had made in china on that back but oh well)We saw a black sand beach and this really old church and the grave of Charles Lindberg. At that spot you could walk beyond the graveyard and look over this fence way down below and see the ocean. This day was so magical because it seemed everything went perfectly. On the way down we decided to stop and see if we could get into Mama'a Fish House which ususally requires advance reservations but we got there just after it opened and we were seating in the prime seating where the wall by our table is open air half way up and the ocean in right there. Needless to say the meal was to die for!!! Well, $180. later we left and were happy to pay it and that was just for Larry and I. I felt like I was a princess in a dream. I will continuue later...Love To All Of You!!!

Another Day in the life of Angie & Xander

Well, when Tracy came to our house from the hospital last night he said a very nice LDS NICU Nurse had talked to them and said the baby, realisticly, would probably have to be in the hospital one or two more weeks. The Dr. had been telling them he could be released when Angie was but the nurse said his body temp would not stay up high enough and he was too weak to get enough to eat. He would just wear himself out trying to eat. So they put a feeding tube through his nose so he could get a jump start. Angie is pumping her breast milk to give him in a bottle or the feeding tube. He just is not strong enough to nurse. This is so hard for Angie, the baby has not been allowed to even leave the levcl 2 NICU. The doctor said Angie could be released tomorrow, which will be hard because she will just be going back and forth every 2 hours. Tracy is going to take the boys home tomorrow and a good friend in their ward that has kids all the same ages as Angie's is going to keep the boys so they can go to school. Tracy will come back with Camary and he can work from here or the hospital or whereever. Angie is really emotional because this is just not what she had planned and it is so hard. Please keep them in your prayers. Then there is Larry & I who are scheduled to leave for Maui on Monday at 1 pm, not very good timing huh? Love To All Of You!!! Hi everyone here are pictures of Xander. When I held him today I could not believe how light he felt. It was like holding a feather. My lifelike babydolls I got from Danbury Mint are heavier than that sweet baby boy. Angie is doing as well as she can. She is quite emotional, as she was not prepared mentally or ready with all the things the baby needed. Lindsay came down today to see Angie and the baby so she and I did a little premie shopping and took her some flowers. I think she just wishes she was home and having the baby the way she had planned on. The baby is so small it is hard to keep his body temperature up so he has to stay in the nursery in the warming bed all the time, so it makes it quite boring and lonely for Angie. They have to watch his blood sugar levels closely because that also affects his body temperature. He is so adorable and we all agree he looks like Sam!!! Please keep Angie and Xander in your prayers, as they need our faith and prayers!!! Love to all of you and keep blogging!!! Cindy

Hi Everyone... just thought I would let all of you know that Angie and Tracy and family got here last night about midnight. They decided to come now because she was due sometime between Novewmber 9th and the 19th. Angie has never had a baby early. She had two late and 3 one the due date. Well this morning about 6 am she woke me up and said her water had broke and of course she was quite upset. She went to Mt. View Hospital here in Las Vegas and since the baby was breech (head on one side and butt and legs on the other side of Angie's body) they did a c-section. He came out screaming at the top of his lungs and weighed at a whopping 4 pounds 7 ounces and is 17&1/2 inches long. They are waiting on the Pediatrician to come check him out but he seems to be fine. I am sure that is the last thing she expected. It sure is nice for the rest of the family because we are all down here. Lindsay's birthday is today so she got a new nephew for her 28th Birthday and hopefully will be down to see him before they go home. We will post pictures asap. This one is from Cindy...Tonight I went to the Las Vegas Temple with the Stockton Family. Their son Spencer was one of my freshman seminary students about 5 or 6 years ago. Well tonight he received his endowment and will be leaving on his mission soon. He is going to London England. The interesting thing about that is his older brother Glen (named after his father) has been serving in that exact mission for the last 22 months and now Spencer has been called to the same mission, very interesting don't you think? Otherwise those brothers would not see each other for 4 years. Wouldn't it be cool if Glen trained Spencer. I guess that is yet to be known!
Larry had to have a tooth pulled today, sad part about it is it was an anchor tooth for a 4-unit bridge and he had just had a root canal on that tooth and also a few months back had a root canal on the other anchor tooth for that bridge. So time will tell what will have to happen there!!! I talked to Ron today and it is exciting to know Jake is home. We are hoping we can come up to hear his report this Sunday but we will have to see if we can get subs for the Temple on Saturday morning. I sure hope you are all doing well...cuz we are!!! I told Ron he needs to get blogging so somebody help him if he needs it, please. It's cool, he told me Soni got called to be in the Stake R.S. better her than me!!!

1. I lived with my Grandma Stone the first 2 month of my life and also the last 2 years of High School. The woman was and still is a Saint!!! I lived in Alaska as a baby until age 3 and then in Venezuela as a teen until I went to live with Gram. I don't know how she put up with Cindy the teenager!!!
2.When my parents came home from Venezuela for my High School Graduation and to live in Utah again they were very surprized to find their only daughter hanging out with a long curly haired guy with a suede fringe jacket driving her aroungd in a 1951 Pontiac Ambulace/Hearse that had a bumper sticker on that said "Don't laugh your daughter might be inside". Yea they were a bit freaked out. One time Larry and I were driving up Hobble Creek in his cool ride and we were near the golf course and he could see the sprinkler was coming around and my window was down and he said something and I said "huh" and the sprinkler came through the window hitting Larry in the face and missed me te-he-he!!!
3.Once when Pam, Pat and I were all teacher Aerobic dance we were at a workshop to learn new routines and find out about a fund raiser we were doing for the 2nd or 3rd year for the March of Dimes. The workshop was held in a gymnastics place when they were finished. I was talking to the Director of the March or Dimes for the state of Utah and I took a step back and fell backwards into a big square pit of foam rubber chunks. I was so embarrased I wouldn't even let him help me out. That was when we still lived in Utah, in the 80's
4. When I was Relief Society President about 8 years ago I was invited to a candle party at the home of one of my counselors. Mary Lou Harward, she was a very gracious lady with style and sophistocation but very down to earth and sweet and very spiritual. Well I had to go to the party late and there was a sign on the front door that said "come on in we are in the back" . I opened the door and briskly walked to the back of the house where I could see all the ladies in the back yard and I walked right into the glass of the sliding back door. I hit it so hard it almost knocked me over backwards and boy did everyone outside get a huge laugh out of that, I was again so embarassed!!!
5. In Las Vegas, as in other places, we are always in the middle of road work. One time Amanda and I were going south on Decatur Blvd. when 3 lanes became one. So as I always try to do I got in the single lane plenty ahead of time while others would speed up the side of the one lane and cut in as far ahead as they could possible get. Well, this was making me madder and madder. I had let a few people in but then decided I had been in this lane to 20 minutes and I was not letting anyone else in so I stuck like glue to the car in front of me as to make sure no car was cutting in front of me!!! Well, when we were just about to the end of the whole ordeal this lady in a big red SUV decided she was cutting in front of me. I was yelling out the passenger side window "There is no way you are cutting in front of me" and Amanda was yelling "Poor plannning on your part" over and over. The lady got so mad she threw some snotty tissues on the hood of my car and we cracked up laughing but she did not get in front of me!!! That's how to drive in Vegas I have learned the hard way!!!
6. Back to younger years... when I did live with my parents in Venezuela. We had an area where all the Americans lived and we had a club with a pool and a bar and some meeting rooms. One day we were swimming at the club and we started having a water fight. My Mom & Dads friend had gone in the bar so we filled up out containers with cold water and were ready to get him, when he came out he had a pitcher or beer in each hand and I thought oh good he would never waste his beer on me so I can get him real good. I dumped cold water on him and I got two pitchers of beer dumped on my head, boy was that a shock!!!
7. Over the July 4th holiday this year, as we always do, we came to Utah and spend it with Angie & Tracy and their family. In the morning we went to the parade. Tracy & the boys had gone early to get us a good spot. After the parade we went home and had a BBQ with Tracy's Mom and her husband. Then it seemed like a good time for a little nap. Larry & I had decided to go into the stadium this year to see Brooks & Dunn. So after my nap I started getting ready, you know, make up. change clothes, curl my hair etc. Well, the outlet in the upstairs bathroom was not working for my curling iron so we were staying upstairs in Tracy & Angies new office that was Rusty's room. Angie wanted the downstairs room for the coming baby's room. So I plugged in my curling iron in the bedroom and set it on a towel on the floor and finished getting ready. When I went to sit down and lean against the bed to curl my hair without a mirror, I straightened my legs out and all of the sudden my foot was hurting. Yes I burned my foot severely on the curling iron. Then Larry made me walk from Provo H.S. where we parked clear to the BYU football stadium and back. I wasn't a very happy girl!!!
8.A few years ago when I was struggling to get a dental implant. I came home from the oral surgeons office rather loopy. You know being put under and then all the pain medication. Of course, Ike, Madi & Becca wanted to stay at Grandma Cindy's house so we decided to watch the first Santa movie. So we always have to have cocoa with our Santa movie and it just wouldn't be right if it was stirred not shaken. So I get my tupperware ranch dressing container out and put the hot water and cocoa mix in and start shaking it, of course it exploded everywhere and Larry comes running in the kitchen...what in the **** are you doing. I was so loopy all I could do is laught with cocoa everywhere. I am a mess!!!
9. A few years back we were staying with our friends, Stan & Sue Carter, in their cabin at Duck Creek. We had a wonderful day and it started to rain at night. Lenny & Amanda and the kids were with us. We were staying upstairs and the thunder sounded like you could reach out and touch it. The lightning and thunder were so close. It made me feel so close to God. Well, a week later in testimony meeting I told the story while bearing my testimony. Lenny made so much fun of me it was sick and wrong...but he makes fun of me all the time, I should be used to it by now.
10. Well, as many of you know I worked for Dr. Call, a dentist. for 18 years. Well last year I had to fire him which made me fired too. I had to tell him he was getting too old and forgetful, after all he was 79 years old and now he is 80. He was a dentist for 51 years. He did not want to quit but in good conscience I just could not let him keep going. He had such a great career with no malpractice anything and it would have been so sad for him to end his career with a nightmare. So I have been accused of firing Dr. Call. Larry told me not to do it because I would be committing employment suicide and that is pretty much true. I haven't worked for a full year now and I have loved it but it is time for me to get my butt in gear and bring in some money to contibute to the cause of shopping!!! I am a District Manager for Arbonne International. It takes a while to start bringing in the big bucks so after our Hawaii trip in Oct. I guess I will have to get a job...boo-hoo.
